Essay Topics
I wrote about why art history is so important to me and how I would utilize every resource that Johns Hopkins University offers to get the most out of the school. I included additional information about my mental health and the context of my high school.
Honors English 9/AP English Lang Teacher
She's my favorite teacher of all time. She was my teacher for 9th grade and 11th grade, and she and I relate to each other a lot. She sees herself in me, and I in her, so she was really happy to write me recommendations for every school I applied to. She talked about my mental health and how I've been really passionate about helping out people since I first entered her class. (10/10)
Honors Chemistry/AP Chemistry Teacher
He's the teacher that helped me get mental support during Sophomore year. He has always tried to help me whether it's with school or my personal life. He and I have similar struggles, and since I'm in his AP class right now, we get to talk all the time and it makes the class super fun despite it being my least favorite class. He talked about my struggles for sure, but he told me he also mentioned how curious I always am about chemical properties and everything. (10/10)
School Counselor
I was fortunate enough to be really close with my counselor, and he helped me with getting me out of a really abusive situation. He has always wanted me to go far and has always encouraged me to continue challenging myself to prove to myself that I can always make it through regardless of if I think I can't. I'm pretty sure he talked about my mental health, but I'm not sure what else. (8/10)
