Essay Topics
Introduction was quirky but the topic itself was pretty cliche. Borderline became a summary of my extracurriculars but I noticed and changed it a day before submitting. Overall I worked on it for about a month.
- Stanford University
- Performance/Outcome: 6/10 - Short interview, just regular Q&A, no stuttering
- Princeton University
- Performance/Outcome: 9/10 - Laughed a lot, loved the interviewer
- University of Pennsylvania
- Performance/Outcome: 7/10 - Conversation went smoothly, was pretty long
- Columbia University
- Performance/Outcome: 3.5/10 - Hardest interview ever, went on for an hour and my brain died at around the 45 minute mark.
Science Teacher
Taught me for 10th, but knew me for 9th, 10th, and 11th because of extracurricular involvement. Loved me because I got straight perfect scores on all of my tests.
History/Social Studies Teacher
Taught me for 10th and 12th, but knew me for 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th because of extracurricular involvement. Teacher showed me the entire letter and asked if I wanted to add anything else.
University Professor
Did research in his lab for 2 years and got my work published as first author. Professor showed me the letter and it literally said I was going to be a leader in the scientific field.
Counselor
Never had the chance to talk to the counselor before senior year because the counselor didn't meet with us.
